“You can fix anything but a blank page.”
Nora Roberts

Hello Readers,

I want to thank all of you who have bought Something to Hope For and gave this first time author a chance. And I'm so grateful for all of you that subscribe to The Hoot and hopefully get some amusement out of it or find a good book in The Bookshelf.

I started The Hoot to build an audience for my book and also support other indie authors. But, I'm finding that it is also a great distraction from actually working on the second book. I'm going to keep creating The Hoot, but I'm scaling back to sending it once a month. This will serve two purposes. It will hopefully give me more time to generate interesting content - more excerpts from Something to Fight For (book 2), more short stories, special features, etc. And, it will force me to focus on actually writing the next book. I am not the most disciplined writer. Generally speaking, writers are probably the best procrastinators in the world. Anything else is better than staring at a blank page. I want to tell Benny and Lexie's story. It's in my head and I need to focus on getting in on the page.

In the meantime, I have some great books for you to check out by my fellow indie authors.

The Bookshelf

Please help support my fellow indie authors. The Hoot is featuring the books below to keep you entertained during the short days and long nights of winter. You will find a variety of books featured, some naughty, some nice, some action and adventure, some mystery, all of them created by authors working hard to get their stories out there for readers like you to enjoy.

A Vintage Of Love And Violence: Book 3 by Gilly Graham

In a vineyard where secrets ferment into danger, the truth may be the most lethal vintage of all.

Olivia’s childhood friend Jesse rekindles a bond she thought was long lost, offering comfort and new complications.

But as threatening messages escalate and the shadows of Kenneth’s dark dealings creep closer, Olivia realizes the danger is far greater than she imagined. To uncover the truth, she must navigate betrayal, unearth buried secrets, and decide who she can truly trust.

Off-Limits Detective by Daisy Grace (Audible version)

“Previously published as Off-Limits Detective: Enemies to Lovers Suspenseful Romance by Grace, Daisy.”

I'm stuck on a murder case with my ex-girlfriend.

Fate's giving me a second chance I never wanted…

Olivia’s smart, sassy, and the best police officer in the department.

She is a whirlwind of passion and mystery, with a body that could tempt a saint.

We clash like thunder and lightning, but when we're in sync, it's like a symphony.

As we dig deeper into the murder case, I can't help but admire the way her body curves in all the right places.

I find myself drawn, not just to Olivia's intellect, but to her inner strength and resilience.

I yearn to be her pillar of support, to mend the wounds of the past.

But I can't shake the fear that my own mistakes have irreparably damaged our chances.

Now, more than ever, I realize how much I want her by my side.

Just when I thought we are in the clear, Olivia is kidnapped.

I'll do whatever it takes to bring her back safely.

With each fleeting second, I wonder, will I be able to rescue her before it's too late?

Blinded By The Light by R.M. Demeester

Good girl Danyelle Fitzgerald’s perfect image is shattered the moment she crashes into Ian Fogg’s car at a stop sign. An unexpected agreement and the lure of the handsome and witty Ian, leave Danyelle's head spinning and her heart in danger. The more she tries to learn about Ian, the more he resists. What is he hiding and why does he have Danyelle questioning her own morals? Are his secrets too much for this good girl to handle?

Off-Limits Boss's Fake Engagement by Nora Palmer

I'm navigating a sustainable revolution with Lucas, my brilliant rival-turned-partner... Fate's given us a daughter I kept secret for years. He's a beacon of innovation and determination, with visions that could reshape urban landscapes. We clash like steel and concrete, but when we're in sync, it's groundbreaking. As we push the boundaries of eco-architecture, I can't help but admire his unwavering drive and creative genius. I yearn to protect our newfound family, to face cutthroat business challenges together. But I fear the weight of our world-changing project. Now, I realize how crucial our bond is to the future of sustainable living. Just when we think we've mastered our roles as green pioneers, a dangerous conspiracy emerges. We'll do anything to preserve the balance between progress and safety. With each floor added to our Eco-Tower, I wonder if our love will be enough. Will we lose the ethical foundation we've sworn to build upon?
